Book Details: Book Title: 18 Golf Poems and A Recollection at the 19th Hole by Ronald Colby Category: Adult Non-Fiction, 54 pages Genre: Poetry Publisher: The Colby Company Release date: 2022 Tour dates: June 1 to June 16, 2023 Content Rating: G for everyone.
Reviews for Ron Colby's novel, Night Driver, published by Rare Bird Literary, (January 2018):
“Colby has written a novel of relentless energy. While driving a cab at night, his main character hunts his wife’s killers through LA’s dark streets of dreams and nightmares. It’s tense, episodic, complete, and compelling. It’s quite a ride.” ― Francis Ford Coppola, director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now "Colby’s well-paced first novel takes the reader on a winding, exhilarating ride through late-1970s Los Angeles." ― Publishers Weekly “Big news: Ron Colby’s Night Driver is a contemporary noir novel that deserves a place next to Chandler, Connolly, and Wambaugh. The story of a man who drives a taxi through the night streets of Los Angeles searching for his wife’s killers makes an exciting, original and hard-to-put-down book. Colby knows his turf, his characters and he gets everything right.” ― Michael Elias, author of The Last Conquistador
The perfect Father’s Day gift for those who love the sport,
and the perfect gift at any time for all golf aficionados!
Book Description:
Ronald Colby worked in the professional theater in New York as an actor, both on Broadway and Off- Broadway. He wrote many plays that saw New York productions, and as a director/playwright, “The Village Voice” declared him an “influential originator” of the Off-Off Broadway movement. Colby also worked with such well-known directors as Francis Ford Coppola and was Executive Producer for The Outsiders and Mobile Masterpiece theatre productions including A Death in the Family. Theater is one of Colby’s passions. His other passion is golf, which is expressed in his new book, 18 Golf Poems And a Recollection at the 19th Hole. Colby says he’s “written these poems primarily for golfers but also for non-players who need confirmation of the absurdities and complexities of the game.” He’s been playing golf since he was eleven, and like many, he became a devoted fan of the game. In First Tee Jitters, he writes, “Could it be, the view from player’s rounds completed drinking and staring through clubhouse windows that makes golfer on the first tee so anxious?” In “Escape” he expresses emotions: “Eviscerated by guilt and strife he arrives and drives his shots breaking boundaries, incurring penalties creating snowmen sans snow.” I Saw a Woman Swinging expresses his shock “at the power” of the female golfer. In My Father’s Latenight Swing, Colby reminisces about his childhood, when, “Near midnight, I take a lonesome whisky to my chair and nestling, remember as a child how in the darkness of my room I could hear my father’s swing.” Relief is a contemplation about death: Golf is a game to be played A poor metaphor for strife and life We’re only ticking up digits Numbers whose meaning will fade away Unlike the Reaper Who shall appear one day. At the end of the day, it’s the Long Shadows cast across the course, where “Palms reach yards to catch last rays, and the golfer, resigned to the days end… Lifting his bag, golfer stares as sun loses its grip on rays and slides from view leaving nothing behind but an afterglow.” Complete with photographs and an essay at the end of the book where Colby reflects upon the sport and its fans, 18 Golf Poems is the perfect Father’s Day gift for those who love the sport, and the perfect gift at any time for all golf aficionados.

Book Details: Book Title: Peace in the Midst of the Storm by Kaleb Thompson Category: Adult Non-Fiction (18+), 86 pages Genre: Poetry Publisher: Wipf and Stock Release date: December, 2021 Tour dates: March 20 to April 7, 2023 Content Rating: G because it provides positive, wholesome content through spiritual poetry that seeks to encourage and inspire others.
Book Description:
Anxiety and fear seek to prey on the damaged and create heavy burdens that scar the soul, being heartless and insensitive to the lost, unkempt, and broken-spirited in a troubled, unwholesome world. However, they do not reign for eternity, as faith, resilience, and empowerment remain planted from within to help overcome pressing obstacles, regardless of how difficult they may be. Peace in the Midst of the Storm primarily focuses on the beauty of positivity, selflessness, and honorable confidence that symbolizes the importance of light being present within darkness. This book also holds accountability in facing the realization that as life may prove frustrating at times, giving up is never an option! This shows that regardless of our mistakes, life does not promise us that we will remain positioned in negativity. What we were in our pasts will not seep into who we have grown to be as positive individuals. What we have now realized is that we often must prepare to speak victory over our storms and, as we continue to encourage ourselves to do that, we will overcome anything.

Book Description:
This collection consists primarily of poems written during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time of loneliness and rumination. Lyndon’s poetry stems from intense emotions that swing from one end of the pendulum to the other as she captures the agony of love and loss, along with innocent joy and lighthearted fun. Each poem is an earnest response to life, love, and everything in between.

She has also published three poetry collections, A Dark Rose Blooms, Remnants of Severed Chains, and Awake with the Songbirds – Poems from the Pandemic. Kyrian began writing short stories and fairy tales when she was just eight years old. In her adolescence, she moved on to poetry. At sixteen, while working as an editor for her high school newspaper, she wrote her first novel, and then completed two more novels at the ages of nineteen and twenty-five. She is forthcoming about being a person with many years of recovery, as well as a trauma survivor. Throughout her journeys, she expressed her thoughts through poetry, embracing every challenge to triumph over adversity. In her conviction that learning, growing, healing, and evolving is a never-ending process, she remains as grateful for the dark days as she is for every flicker of hope and light. She considers herself a cheerleader for those trudging on against all odds in the hopes of living their dreams. Born and raised in Woodside, Queens, New York, Kyrian was the middle of three daughters born to immigrants --her father from Campochiaro, Italy; her mother from Havana, Cuba. She has worked primarily in executive-level administrative positions with major New York publishing companies. Book Title: The Art of Time; A Mother-Daughter Sprezzatura on the Spirit of Time by Martine Therese & Martina Franca Category: Adult Fiction 18+, 76 pages Genre: Art, Poetry Publisher: The Twenty-Sixth Residence Release Date: July 2021 Tour dates: August 16 to September 3 Content Rating: G.
Book Description:
In The Art of Time: A Mother-Daughter Sprezzatura on the Spirit of Time, Martine Therese and her daughter, Martina Franca, invite you into a lush world where time has no limits. Consisting of paintings, meditations and poetry, The Art of Time merges maternal & youthful wisdom into a one-of-a-kind artistic showcase with a powerful message: humanity's experience can be enhanced by developing our minds into sensual thought. A gorgeous book to be treasured by everyone from art connoisseurs to children, The Art of Time offers concepts and images that introduce readers to a new—and wonderful—realm of being.
Meet the Authors:
Martine Therese was a practicing Certified Public Accountant when she became pregnant with her daughter, Martina Franca. She decided to leave her accounting job and focus on her daughter instead. The transition, while “brutal,” completely transformed Martine’s life, and opened up a whole new world of possibility. For Martine, who has been writing poetry all her life, motherhood expanded her creativity, and she finally felt the courage to bring her work to the world. Martine and her daughter discovered a love for painting, and their artwork, combined with Martine’s poetry, form the basis of The Art of Time; A Mother-Daughter Sprezzatura on the Spirit of Time. The book is a token of their shared loves and talents. Martine and Martina Franca are putting together a follow-up collection on the topic of what it means to be human, exploring the theme of building the potential of humanity. Martina Franca embraces her maternal side on a daily basis, be it with caring for her baby dolls or her puppy, Marcello. She gets a kick out of tailgating with Mom and watching people's reactions, and playing practical jokes like hiding Daddy's shampoo bottle, and she loves having conversations. She regularly chills out with Mom during yoga in their special "rainbow room," a room just for the two of them to recharge. On sunny days, gorgeous rainbows fill the wall of the Rainbow Room, and Martina and Mom bask in those colors—which is why Martina loves infusing her art with rainbows. Not only does Lauren do a fantastic job of organizing the tour and communicating with you at every step of the way, but I found the tour hosts that signed up for her tour to be of a higher caliber. The reviews that I got on this tour were thoughtful and well-written and I noticed an uptick in sales during this tour. I also appreciated the fact that many of her tour hosts that wrote reviews posted them on multiple sites, not just on their blog or Instagram account. This is invaluable to an author.
